Application Guidelines
  • General Admission Requirements for Morning Studies

The applicant must hold an Iraqi preparatory school certificate or an equivalent certificate, officially authenticated by the General Directorate of Education in the respective governorate and in accordance with the admission criteria of the intended specialisation.

The applicant must be born in 1991 or later.

Graduates of vocational centres with a minimum three-year study period and who have taken the ministerial examination exclusively are eligible to apply, subject to the requirements of each specialisation.

The student must be fully committed to study. Combining employment with morning studies is not permitted. This applies to employees of all government institutions, who are required to provide study leave documentation from their departments; otherwise, their admission will be revoked.

The applicant must pass the medical examination.

A student previously admitted to a private university/college in past years may transfer to another department within the same institution. Upon acceptance, an administrative order is issued for the transfer, and the student proceeds with first-year studies in the new department.

If a student is accepted into another university/college (inside or outside Iraq) or secures employment, their registration can be updated upon submitting a written request within one week of the new admission.

Students admitted to public universities, colleges, or institutes are allowed to apply to private institutions via the electronic portal, based on merit and programme eligibility.

A student whose registration was upgraded from a private university/college may reapply, as long as they do not apply to the same department from which their registration was promoted and follow the standard application conditions and differentiation process.

Private universities and colleges are prohibited from collecting tuition fees or deposits before the student has been formally accepted. No fees may be collected during the admission and registration period through the electronic system.

Ministers, MPs, special rank officials, and provincial council members are not permitted to apply for morning studies.

Students from the Kurdistan Region who graduated from a preparatory school recognised by the Ministry of Education are eligible to apply.

Upon acceptance, university orders and administrative orders are issued to confirm the names of accepted students.

The data of admitted students will be verified with the Department of Private University Education, according to official procedures set by the department.
