The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa has achieved a significant advancement in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Ranking for Sustainability, rising 142 places compared with the previous year to reach 293rd globally, up from 435th. This accomplishment reflects the University’s improved performance in environmental sustainability indicators, resource management efficiency, and the development of green infrastructure across the campus.
At the national level, the University ranked ninth among 87 Iraqi public and private universities, and fourth among private universities, underscoring its leadership in adopting environmentally responsible policies and integrating sustainability into its academic programmes.
This progress aligns with the University’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals. The visit included a series of practical experiments conducted in the laboratories of aircraft engines, aerodynamics, and machine theory. University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa Strengthens Collaboration with the Karbala Iron and Steel Plant to Advance Training and Applied Research

In line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s policy to support and activate technological incubators and to strengthen partnerships between universities and the industrial sector, the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa discussed avenues for enhancing cooperation with the Iron and Steel plant in Karbala. The meeting took place during the visit of Dr Anwar Al-Aamri, the Director-General of the plant, who was received by Professor Dr Nowfal Al-Araji, the University’s Vice President for Administrative Affairs, in the presence of representatives from the University’s Science and Technology Parks Department.

Minister of Higher Education Honours Winners of the Third Edition of the Higher Education Reading Award

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Naeem Al-Aboudi, honoured the student winners of the third edition of the Higher Education Reading Award for the year 2025.
In his address, delivered in the presence of senior ministry officials, the President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, presidents of Iraqi universities, and deans of colleges, the Minister affirmed that the Ministry’s adoption of such inspiring initiatives aligns with its vision to promote a culture of reading, foster productive awareness, and empower students to engage positively with knowledge—moving beyond passive reception towards critical analysis and reflection. He noted that non-traditional reading represents one of the most important pathways for stimulating students’ intellectual capacities, enhancing their ability to confront challenges, and shaping informed, thoughtful academic personalities.
The Minister further explained that the Higher Education Reading Award represents a continuation of the trajectory of Iraqi academic advancement, through which universities have demonstrated a notable presence and impact in global rankings and classifications, achieving a positive imprint in the field of rigorous scholarly engagement.

The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa Organises an Awareness Seminar on the Escalating Dangers of Drug Abuse

In line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the College of Engineering at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa, in cooperation with the Science and Technology Parks Department, organised an awareness seminar addressing the growing risks of drug abuse and its health, social, and legal consequences.
The seminar reviewed the physical and psychological effects of addiction on individuals, underscoring the importance of strengthening prevention and treatment efforts in accordance with Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being). It also discussed how drug abuse weakens social cohesion and contributes to rising crime rates, highlighting the need to support institutional efforts to meet the requirements of Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).

Announcement of Transfer Results for Dependants of Academic Staff Admitted under the Special Government University Education Scheme

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the transfer results for students from academic staff families who were admitted under the Special Government University Education Scheme and the Appeals Channel for the academic year 2025–2026.
The results include the transfer of eighty-eight (88) students under the Special Government University Education Channel and four (4) students under the Appeals Channel. These transfers apply to students originally admitted to colleges and institutes outside their governorate of residence, who have now been relocated to equivalent programmes within their home governorates, in accordance with the transfer regulations governing both channels.
The Directorate of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up indicates that students may view their admission results through its portal using their examination number, and calls upon the admitted students to proceed with the registration process and begin their studies at their respective universities.

The College of Law at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa has organised a scientific competition for second-year students, attended by the Assistant for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr Nowfal Al-Araji. The event reflects the University’s commitment to developing students’ academic capabilities and fostering a spirit of positive competition among them.
The competition featured specialised legal questions in Criminal Law, with participating teams competing to provide answers in an engaging academic atmosphere that contributed to strengthening students’ legal analytical skills and critical thinking. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the opening of the electronic application form for the admission of students graduating from Islamic preparatory schools affiliated with the Ministry of Education, as well as those from the Endowment-administered schools (Third Examination Sitting), for the academic year 2025–2026.
The Directorate of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up clarifies that applications may be submitted to the Departments of Arabic Language, History, Philosophy, Sociology, Tourism, Psychology, and Archaeology. The application period will remain open until Thursday, 27 November 2025. Applicants are required to confirm their choices via the electronic portal, selecting no fewer than ten (10) and no more than twenty-five (25) options.
