Scoring Criteria for the Award-Competing Applicants

Applicants will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • 60% of the total competitive score will be allocated based on the applicant’s scientific output during the year 2023, specifically for research articles published and indexed in Scopus and Web of Science databases. Points are awarded in proportion to the combined CiteScore and Impact Factor of the journal in which the work was published. The distribution of points among co-authors is as follows:

    • First author: 100% of the points

    • Second author: 80%

    • Third author: 60%

    • Fourth author and beyond: 40%
In addition, the corresponding author is granted an extra 30% of the allocated points regardless of their position in the list of authors.

  • 15% of the total score is awarded based on citation counts in the Web of Science. For instance, if the researcher has received 420 citations, they will be awarded 63 points.

  • 10% of the total score is assigned based on citation counts in the Scopus database. For example, 420 citations would equate to 42 points.

  • 10% of the total score is allocated to the researcher’s H-index as recorded in Web of Science.

  • 5% of the total score is assigned to the H-index in Scopus.

The award recipient will be the researcher who accumulates the highest overall score within each evaluation category.

The criteria outlined in points 1 to 5 apply to the following fields: medical sciences, engineering, pure sciences, agricultural sciences, and young researchers.

For humanities and social sciences, the evaluation is based on the number of indexed publications in both international and national databases. Points are distributed as follows:

  • 10 points per publication where the applicant is the first author

  • 8 points if listed as the second author

  • 6 points for the third author

  • 4 points for the fourth author
An additional 3 points are granted if the applicant is listed as the corresponding author for the submitted research.
