The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa witnessed the commencement of the Fourth International Conference on Oil and Petrochemical Technology, organised by the University’s College of Engineering in collaboration with the College of Petroleum and Gas Engineering at the University of Technology. The event was held under the patronage of the General Secretariat of the Holy Hussain Shrine and the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, and attended by the Secretary-General of the Holy Hussain Shrine, Hassan Rashid Al-Abayji, and the University President, Professor Dr Ibrahim Saeed Al-Hayyawi, alongside a distinguished group of academics and specialists.
The conference aims to examine the latest scientific developments and modern technologies in the oil and petrochemical industries, and to strengthen research collaboration between universities and industrial institutions. This objective aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, by supporting innovation and the development of technological solutions within the energy sector.
Furthermore, the conference seeks to integrate artificial intelligence technologies into exploration, production, and the analysis and processing of petroleum data—an endeavour that enhances the quality of research and engineering education and corresponds with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, through the advancement of specialised knowledge. It also promotes partnerships among academic, governmental, and industrial institutions in pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
This conference represents a significant scientific milestone, reaffirming the growing role of the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa in supporting research and contributing to the development of Iraq’s energy sector in accordance with international standards.
